WMB (Installations) Limited have been carrying out Electrical work on the University of Manchester Campus for 25 years. During this period we have undertaken works directly for the University and through numerous bona fide Contractors.
The works we have carried out include minor works in individual offices to full area/ floor refurbishments including major Sub-Station and Switch room works. We have also undertaken works in very sensitive areas of the University including Laboratories where experiments are taking place.
We have worked in all areas of the University Campus including teaching areas / staff areas and student accommodation. In all cases we have been working in ‘Live’ buildings and are aware of the sensitivity of carrying out works in such areas.
We have a very experienced workforce who are fully conversant with all the University procedures including the need for site specific method statements / risk assessments / permits to work / isolations / shutdowns / working in risers / plant rooms / sub-stations and switch rooms / student accommodation.
We have worked closely with a number of the University’s consultants including DSSR / RPS / BES Design / Hoare Lee/ WYG. In some cases we have also been involved in the design process with the consultants using our knowledge of the buildings to put projects together.
We also carry out numerous maintenance works directly for the university including the metering and invertor replacement. We have also worked closely with the university and asbestos removal contractors in carrying out investigations and de-commissioning areas for asbestos removal works.
